Chaffles are the new popular thing in low carb communities. Basically a Chaffle is a low carb waffle made with cheese and egg.

I know it doesn’t sound tasty, but I swear chaffles will change your low carb life. Sure the idea of browning eggs may not sound like a good breakfast, but these Chaffles taste just like waffles.

I don’t know how, but egg and mozzarella mixed together added to a waffle maker comes out tasting like delicious pillows made out of sugar free clouds. Kick it up a noch by adding some butter and sugar free syrup.

Not only is a Chaffle super easy to make, there are literally 50 different versions of them. That is why I put together this list of my favorite keto Chaffle recipes.

How To Make Chaffles

Here is the basic keto Chaffle recipe in case you were wondering how do you make a Chaffle?

A basic Chaffle has 2 ingredients

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese

To make these this basic Chaffle you need to:

Whisk the egg, stir in the cheese, then place half the batter in a dash mini waffle maker for 2-3 minutes.

They do get crispy like a regular waffle after sitting. Allow the Chaffle to sit for a 1-2 minutes after removing from waffle maker.

Chaffle Making Tip: Add 1 teaspoon of almond flour to give it a more “bread” like texture

Most people top their waffles with butter and syrup and you can do the same with your Chaffle. I like to top my chaffles with ChocZero’s Sugar Free Maple Syrup.

Here is the best Keto Chaffle Recipe, it only takes two ingredients and cook's in just a few minutes!

Equipment

  • Dash Mini Waffle Maker

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1/2 Cup Mozzarella Cheese finely shredded

Instructions
 

  • Cut on the Dash mini waffle maker to heat up.
  • Crack the egg into a small bowl and whisk. Add the mozzarella, stiring to combine.
  • Spray the waffle iron with a non-stick spray.
  • Pour half of the egg mixture into the waffle maker then cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Remove the Chaffle carefully and cook the rest of the batter.
  • Serve Chaffle warm with butter and sugar-free syrup.

Notes

This is an basic version of the chaffle recipe, but adding 1 teaspoon of coconut flour + 1/4 teaspoon baking powder will give these a better texture.
Try adding a dash of vanilla or bit of cinnamon fo a better tasting breakfast chaffle or use another type of cheese or seasoning for a bread replacement.
